LSCE, Proud Sponsor for “A Day In The Country”

Regional Collaborative Approaches to Maintaining and Improving Groundwater Quality for Multiple Benefits

LSCE was a proud “Sustainer” sponsor for the 30th annual “A Day In The Country”, a fundraiser for the Yolo Land Trust. The event was held September 9th at the picturesque River Garden Farms in Knights Landing and located adjacent to the Sacramento River. LSCE has worked for River Garden Farms since 1981. In recent years, LSCE’s technical services to River Garden Farms have included monitoring and production well design and construction, analytical and numerical modeling with an emphasis on the interaction between the Sacramento River and the underlying aquifer system, along with technical services in support of water transfer programs.

The event featured 20 restaurants, along with wineries and breweries, throughout Northern California. Chefs from throughout the region created signature dishes featuring locally grown produce, cheeses, and meats supplied to the chefs for them to work their magic with appetizers to sample.

What was once a fairly intimate gathering has grown into a major event, accommodating over 500 guests, and serving as a primary fundraiser to preserve Yolo County farmland.
