LSCE’s Idaho team has extensive experience working with the Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR) and offers a range of valuable services, including permitting, transfers, and beneficial use field exams for licensing. Our permitting services involve filing new applications and responding to IDWR “Rule 40” requests for large diversions, ensuring no injury to existing users and sufficiency of supply. In terms of transfers, we help correct errors in place of use or point of diversion descriptions, move existing water rights to new locations, and change the nature of use, such as from irrigation to commercial or industrial purposes.

As certified field examiners, LSCE conducts beneficial use field exams to assess the extent of beneficial use developed under a permit, including accurate water measurements and evaluating compliance with permit conditions. Other services encompass thorough research on water rights for real estate transactions, protection of water rights through Water Supply Bank lease agreements, filing extensions for “Beneficial Use,” and assessing water rights for future development or reallocation.
