Position Summary
We seek a motivated and versatile Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist to join our team of water resources and engineering professionals. The GIS Specialist will support a diverse group of water resources scientists and engineers to provide expertise in the presentation and management of data (most commonly spatial data) to meet project objectives. We anticipate the successful applicant will work primarily in our Woodland or Roseville offices in a full-time capacity. Remote work is not an option at this time; however, a hybrid work arrangement may be considered after two years of employment.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Develop figures and maps for project deliverables under the direction of project managers
- Conduct spatial analysis using GIS software to support project deliverables
- Create interactive visualizations for dynamic web applications and dashboards
- Utilization of GIS capabilities including 3D visualization, hydrogeologic cross section development, real-time engineering/hydrology monitoring solutions
- Support GIS data management activities
- Other related duties/tasks as directed
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geology, Engineering, or related field
- 1 to 3 years related work experience
- Proficiency with ESRI software and applications, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Desktop
- Experience developing and maintaining geospatial data
- Experience producing figures and maps
- Proficiency in cartography and map design
- Interest in learning and applying new approaches and technologies to collection and analysis of spatial data
- Careful attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate and work with others
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience publishing and managing web-based GIS services in ArcGIS Online
- Experience with Esri applications and extensions, including Dashboards, Experience Builder, Field Maps, Survey123, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Model Builder, ArcGIS API for Python
- Experience with Microsoft Access and Excel
- Experience working with and/or managing data in an Enterprise environment
- Experience with Python, R, and Arcade
- Previous environmental consulting experience
Salary and Benefits:
