Position Summary

We seek a motivated and versatile Senior level Hydrogeologist to join our team of water resources and engineering professionals for a full-time position in our Woodland or Roseville offices. The Senior Hydrogeologist will be a part of a diverse group of water resources scientists and engineers working in a fast-paced setting on projects throughout California. The successful candidate will manage projects and work closely with LSCE Principals and other staff to successfully complete projects throughout California. Experience working in the consulting engineering field, developing client relationships, and development of project deliverables from start to finish is required.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Working with various types of hydrologic, engineering, and hydrogeologic data and software.
  • Working in small groups to complete project tasks while also providing project management oversight.
  • Participation in permitting and environmental review functions related to groundwater issues and development of water supply projects.
  • Preparation of written documents and client deliverables including technical presentations, reports, technical memorandums, tables, graphs, charts, and hydrogeologic-related maps
  • Ensuring that projects and tasks are designed and conducted in accordance with applicable regulations, guidance, or client-specified requirements
  • Develop and calibrate models ranging from analytical to complex transient, basin-scale numerical flow and solute transport, process model input and output data, and develop and run predictive scenarios
  • Aquifer test data collection and analysis
  • Management of multiple projects at the same time

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Geology and MS degree in Hydrogeology or related disciplines
  • Professional Geologist registration in California
  • Strong foundation in geology and hydrogeology concepts
  • Careful attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency along with critical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with others, including mentoring less experienced staff and delegation of project work
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong technical writing, spelling and grammar skills
  • Proficient knowledge of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act and Groundwater Sustainability Plan implementation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience in consulting in California
  • Experience in development of project scope, budget and schedules for groundwater resources related projects
  • Experience working in Central Valley subbasins

Salary and Benefits:

LSCE offers a competitive salary ($120,000 to $180,000) and benefits package. Salary will be dependent upon qualifications and experience. LSCE benefits include health, dental, life, and 401k and profit-sharing retirement plans.
